The hotel we stayed at rocked and the breakfast this morning was made by Jesus himself. I can definitely say that our room was better than the room I had in Fukuoka the first day I stayed in Japan. I don't even want to think about what it would have cost us if we had actually paid for it ourselves.
Right now we're in Singapore airport waiting for our 10:30 flight to Colombo. We're kinda tired because we had to wake up early but I can't help but be excited for the beaches and ridiculously nice weather that's waiting for us....
Did I mention it was 25 degrees last night? At 1 in the morning?

Singapore

Hurray for technical difficulties!
Our flight from Fukuoaka was supposed to have an hour stop in Taipei and then go on to Hong Kong, but it decided not to do that. Technical deficulties were apparently a more exciting move to make.
Our flight then got moved to an our later, which made us miss our connecting flight from Hong Kong to Sinapore, which ultimately means we wont be making it to Sri Lanka tonight.
Admist the complaints and new-found hatred of Cathay pacific, at least I can say they'll be arranging a hotel room for us in Singapore at their expense. They also took care of the rest of our flights so that we aren't stranded.
I'd take pictures but it's foggy out and all I can see is planes from outside the windows.

Vacation
So Steve and I are off to Sri Lanka tomorrow. We'll be there for six days staying at a beach-side resort-ish place with a view of the ocean from our windows. I for one am looking forward to 30 degree weather for a change. Okinawa was nice temperature-wise but Sri Lanka is going to be hooooot.
After 6 days in Sri Lanka we're heading slightly homeward but stopping midway for three days in Thailand. We may or may not ride elephants.
Bought a shiny new 4-gig memory card for my camera so there won't be a chance of running out of space with just the 2-gig one I have now.
I still gotta pack, but at least my apartment is clean and I've pretty much got everything else in order.
Expect photos and whatnot.

Still Alive
Sorry about being slow on the updates.
Right, onto business.
So, being given the option of writing a term-end paper in English by mercy of the teacher, I decided to fight the power and tough it out in Japanese. As it stands now, it's just about done and I haven't yet shown it to a real Japanese person. I'm hoping to fix that very soon.
The paper itself is on Othello, the play by Shakespeare. We didn't cover Othello in class, but I asked the prof if I could write it on Othello and she said yes.
So that's that.
Big party tomorrow as a sort of farewell to all the normal international students that are leaving. "Normal" international students come in March or so, and so their one-year is almost up.
I suspect we'll drink lots of water and talk of politics and the like. You know, just the things any group of university students would do.
From the 17th to the 19th I'm off to Okinawa on a big group trip. We'll be taking a plane, doing tons of sightseeing, and will be staying at some sort of resortish-type place.
The price? ¥4500. In Canadian monies that's around $50. Yeah, that's all I'll say about that.
We've been told it'll be cold and that we won't be able to swim, but the Okinawa weather reports lately have all said temperatures in the 20's.... If it's that warm I might as well be naked. Forget about bringing warm clothes.
Theeeeen from the 28th to the 9th I'll be doing some international travel... this time around the plane tickets are free, thanks to Steve. I'll let you know where we went with a big video compilation once we're home.
All of March after that is free time. The semester is just ending (I had my last exam today) and so the big break is coming up. Japan does things a bit different.... rather than have 4 months of summer like we do, they split it up half-half between winter and summer. I'm looking forward to kicking back!
Ciao.
