There are lots of them every night outside my back door. Anyway;
I've learned a lot, and not even through classes. Mana has taught me a little bit of Japanese cuisine and says she'll teach me more. My language ability has gone through the roof and I've only been here for two weeks.
I'm pretty sure my finances are on track. I've been moving a lot of money into my 佐賀銀行 (Bank of Saga) account to be safe. A lot of the things I have to pay for are automatically withdrawn from that account anyway.
I didn't really have the intention of coming home for Christmas to begin with, but now it's come to light that I wouldn't be able to anyway, since Christmas in Japan (rather, the idea of Christmas) is only for commercial purposes and isn't actually celebrated as a holiday. Therein, I may actually have exams on Christmas Day, let alone free time.
Three classes tomorrow. My busy day. One of them is "Computer Hardware", a course taught by my supervisor. It'll be all in Japanese.

We weren't expecting you to come home for Christmas...mainly due to time constraints rather than financial reasons, but to hear that you have an exam that day...that's tragic. I guess that means no one will invite you home for the holidays as I had hoped. At least it's good to see that you're surrounded by heathens...wouldn't want you coming home believing in God!
Absolutely fantastic to read that the language skills are improving so quickly. I'm not surprised...you're a bright boy!
Crickets are such a nice sound..do they keep you awake at night? Better than skunk smell :)
Crickets, hm?
Is that what Saga sounds like at night? Is it a pretty city?
Have you been exploring in it?
I'm happy about your Japanese- you'll be fluent in no time!
Good that you have a bank setup. Did you end up getting a personal seal? (seel?)
I can't remember which one lives in the sea...lol
I figured about Christmas but it would sssuccckkkk to have an exam on Christmas day.
Well, we'll all be together for Christmas in spirit. ^^
Computer Hardware? Like Computer sciences or more like the actual structure of the computer?
Have you been enjoying your classes so far?
We are good here, Angie is working right now and I'm doing my homework.
Turbo got fixed today but seems okay.
Have a good day at school! (it should be 9 am right now so you're probably already there.)
Just wait until the shops are whipping out their "Christmas" decorations... think pink & blue/silver plastic trees. At least that's how the shops in and around Yokohama station were decorated. They don't quite get the "spirit of Christmas". XD
Poor you, exams on Christmas! I'm not sure why, maybe due there being so many foreign students at YNU, but we had a Christmas/winter vacation starting a few days before Christmas and extending beyond the New Years holidays.
Btw, I'm not sure how it's going to be in Saga but Tokyo/Yokohama was basically abandoned for the three days of New Years holidays. Everyone went home to where their families lived. I hope you find someone to stay with for New Years. I was invited to one of my teachers who had cooked an amazing traditional New Years meal! *_*
Have fun, take care,
Nerei
